Bad news about the Hoff .....

Much to what I am sure will turn out to be mutual dismay, I have just learnt that David Hasselhoff has cancelled his highly anticipated debut in Christmas pantomime, playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan.

However, things continue to take a turn for the worse with the sad news that last Thursday, the Hoff had to be treated in hospital after being involved in a chandelier accident.

You might need to get your hankies ready if they are not already soaked in tears.

Our hero hit his head on a chandelier in the men's toilet after using the gym where he was staying and his right arm was cut by shards of glass, severing a tendon.

Please swallow your disbelief at the fact that there was a chandelier in the toliet, and collect your sympathies for the man idolised by many of you.

All that remains is to say now is congratulations to the lovely Scrivs on their first wedding anniversary yesterday.

Revels

I always find Revels a bit of a disappointment as I'm not too keen on the Orange ones and really don't like the coffee ones. However, perhaps most disappointing was my unhappy discovery yesterday that they have taken away the peanut ones. No longer will the legendary 'revel bomb' strike fear into the heart of Jodie and Trevor. Just a thought I wanted to share.

Just scanning the latest news headlines (in the aid of work) and came across the following "Smash Hits magazine closing down".

All of a sudden I remembered a good friend of mine - a male friend no less - who once confessed in a moment of foolish honesty, that Smash Hits influenced him to such an extent that as a young teenager he had Take That posters on his bedroom walls.

Smiling like a crazy women at my desk at the memory .....

Road trip to Mason Hall

It has come to my attention that our once beloved first year halls of residence are shortly to be bulldozed.

I hereby propose a roadtrip to Birmingham for a weekend for a farewell tour of Mason.

I believe that the unfortunate event will occur in April, so speed is of the essence in planning our jaunt.

Accomodation may prove to be a minor challenge, but I hear that the Scriv's residence is surprisingly spacious!

Anyone interested in revisiting our happy days of yesteryear?

Dear friends - I'd like to start by wishing you all a Happy New Year, especially those i didn't get to see the New Year in with.

I'd also like to apologise for not posting to my blog for a very long time. My link has now been removed from our great leader Jon's blog - something which saddens and upsets me deeply, but has made me resolve to re-connect with the blogging community.

In my blogging absence I've been up to some very interesting things - but unfortunately the Official Secrets Act and the state of national security prevents me from putting details of it on said blog. Highlights however include a Christmas party in Dublin, Christmas presents, seeing lots of lovely friends at New Year, and the usual political celeb spotting in Westminster.

Invisible Girl

I have been fretful of late that no-one has been posting any comments on my blog. I thought that I might re-name my blog "Invisible Girl". However, it seems I may have been a little hasty in my distress, and that I accidentally set my blog up so no-one could post comments. Thank you Jon and Jodie for giving me hope. So, for the time being my blog shall remain as "Fell on Life", and all that remains to say is that my column "Fell on Government" is now out. This week it's a rather scintillating read on piracy - though sadly not the Johnny Depp variety.

The jungle debate

Chatting with friends the other day about witnessing, we discovered that people living in the jungle pose a real challenge for people contemplating God, the consequences of sin, and heaven and hell. When explaining that the only way to heaven is through Jesus, a common response is often "what about people living in the jungle?". An admirable concern perhaps - but definitely one that could be classed as a stumbling block (hoping I have the dubious honour of being the first to mention our good old friend the stumbling block).

I have been reading Genesis recently (excellent book) and yesterday morning was listening to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on my iPod on the way to work, and thought of a possible answer to the debate. Dreams. God could reveal himself to the jungle people in dreams. However, to accept this one would have to accept that God is real and have some concept of faith. So back to square one.

All thoughts on how to solve the jungle debate for a non Christian welcome.

Our community

One of the things that is most important to me as a Christian is being part of the body of Christ. For me this means engaging in the community I live in, the community I work in, and this online community. I belive that openness, encouragement and discussion are key in growing in our faiths and am very excited by the idea of now doing this online now that we've left uni. As Christians we are called to stand up for what we believe, and to be witness to the love of Jesus. I would love to see these blogs become a vibrant forward looking community, seeking to further the kingdom of God on earth.
